Prix Annette Giacometti
The Prix Annette Giacometti pour le droit des œuvres et des artistes is a prize donated by the Fondation Alberto et Annette Giacometti , Paris, in 2011 and named after the wife of the Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti . In addition to the undoped main prize, a sponsorship prize worth 10,000 euros is also awarded annually.
Award
The Prix Annette Giacometti honors exhibitions and publications from around the world that have committed themselves to protecting the copyright for works of art and artists and which are directed against art counterfeiting . The composition of the jury changes. It usually includes a lawyer, an artist, an art collector and an economist. As a rule, it includes the previous year's winner.
In 2011 Sarah Grant received the award for the exhibition “The Metropolitan Police Service's Investigation of Fakes and Forgeries” curated by her in 2010 at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. In 2012 the prize went to journalists Stefan Koldehoff and Tobias Timm for the jointly written book Falsche Bilder - Echtes Geld , which deals with the art forger scandal surrounding the Werner Jäger collection . The award ceremony took place on April 26, 2012 in the Palais de l'UNESCO in Paris.
