Tobias Timm

Tobias Timm (* 1975 in Munich ) is a German journalist , art market expert and non-fiction author . He became known through his work as an art and architecture critic in the weekly newspaper Die Zeit .

Life

Tobias Timm studied urban ethnology , history and cultural studies in Berlin and New York. At the same time, he initially worked as a freelance writer for the Süddeutsche Zeitung . Since 2006 he has been working as an author and editor for the weekly newspaper Die Zeit . His subject areas include art, the art market, crime, architecture and urban research. In 2012 he published Falsche Bilder, Echtes Geld , a book on the Beltracchi art forger scandal together with Stefan Koldehoff . In March 2020, Timm and Koldehoff published the book Art and Crimes , which draws a panorama of today's art crime from money laundering to illegal trade and fraud.

Timm lives in Berlin .
