Prix ​​Dan Gourmou

The Prix ​​Dan Gourmou is a biennial , multi-day music competition in the Nigerien city ​​of Tahoua .

The first edition of the music competition founded by the Nigerien Ministry of Culture took place in February 1987. The first winner was popular musician Moussa Poussy . The Prix Dan Gourmou is named after the Nigerien composer and musician Dan Gourmou . The Tahoua venue is the birthplace of Dan Gourmous.

The Prix Dan Gourmou is considered one of the most important music events in the country. It is mainly dedicated to musique tradi-modern , in which elements of modern and traditional music - with instruments such as tahardent and talking drum - are combined. There is a cash prize and a nationwide tour to be won.
