Prix Joël Champetier
The Prix Joël Champetier is a Canadian literary prize that has been awarded by the French-language Canadian magazine Solaris since 2016 . French short stories by non-Canadian authors are awarded for works from the areas of science fiction , fantasy and fantasy . The texts must be unpublished and have a maximum length of 10,500 words or 60,000 characters. The prize is endowed with 1000 euros. The award-winning text will be printed in the magazine. The award ceremony takes place as part of the annual Utopiales Festival in Nantes , France, which is why the award is also part of the Prix Utopiales group.
The award honors the memory of science fiction writer Joël Champetier , who passed away in 2015 and was the managing editor of Solaris for 20 years .
