Prix Mergier-Bourdeix
The Prix Mergier-Bourdeix of the Académie des Sciences is awarded to young French academics for outstanding achievements in mathematics or natural sciences.
It has been awarded since 1988, most recently every two years. It is endowed with 45,000 euros (before 2015 with 20,000 euros). He is a Grand Prix of the French Academy of Sciences. Usually it is not split up. According to the statutes, it is awarded for basic research that is not aimed at direct commercial application.
The award is named after Paul Louis Mergier and Suzanne Bourdeix .
