The ProCredit Holding AG & Co. KGaA is the parent company of the group of ProCredit banks, mainly in Southeast and Eastern Europe, but also in Ecuador and Germany are active. The business model is based on a socially responsible banking system that wants to be transparent, efficient and profitable and thus works sustainably.
The group’s core business is providing banking services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As their house bank, the ProCredit banks concentrate on innovative, high-growth companies with stable and formalized structures and have firmly established themselves in the markets in which they operate. With its activities, the group would like to make a contribution to the creation of jobs, to increasing the innovative capacity of SMEs and to investing in ecological projects. It is particularly important to her to increase the “green loan portfolio” and promote local production, especially in the agricultural sector. In addition to business with SMEs, the ProCredit group pursues a direct banking strategy for private customers that is particularly geared towards the growing middle class.
The ProCredit Holding goes back to the International Micro Investments AG founded in 1998 and is managed by Sandrine Massiani, Gabriel Schor, Gian Marco Felice and Christian Dagrosa. The company has a Fitch rating of BBB. As a superordinate institute, it is regulated by the German and European supervisory authorities.
The ProCredit group's total assets at the end of the 2019 financial year were around 6.7 billion euros. The customer deposits of around 4.3 billion were offset by a gross credit volume of around 4.8 billion euros.
An integrated environmental management system with a focus on sustainability is an integral part of the corporate strategy of the ProCredit group, consisting of the three pillars internal environmental management (pillar I), management of environmental and social risks in lending (pillar 2) and green finance (pillar III) . The ProCredit banks only conduct business with customers who comply with health and safety regulations, taking social, moral or ecological aspects into account. The promotion of green credits to finance projects in the areas of energy efficiency and renewable energies (Pillar III) is the strategic focus. Around 30% of the total loan portfolio growth in the ProCredit group in 2019 was attributable to green loans.
