The ProCurand group of companies based in Berlin is a private provider of senior care and residential facilities as well as outpatient care services. The company operates 27 facilities with a total capacity of around 1,700 inpatient care places, around 600 customers in outpatient care and around 1,000 places in service living and employs around 1,600 people. The company group includes the non-profit ProCurand GmbH, non-profit ProCurand Ambulante Pflege GmbH and ProCurand Dienstleistungs GmbH.

history

In 1997, Adolf Theis and his wife Masako Katagami-Theis founded the BPT Consulting and Planning Company for Clinics, Senior Citizens and Spa Facilities. One of the main focuses of BPT's activities was advising investors on senior real estate that had got into financial difficulties.

ProCurand, originally founded as a subsidiary of BPT Beratungs- und Planungs-GmbH, was initially a rescue and restructuring company. The company was founded in 1999 and today operates and owns facilities for the elderly as well as a service provider for operating companies in the social and health sector. Katagami-Theis brought the company logo - the ginkgo tree - with them from their Japanese homeland. It is supposed to symbolize persistence, tenacity and sincerity. In 2013 the founders Adolf Theis and Masako Katagami-Theis handed over the management of the group to Kristina Müller and Daniel Schuster. Kristina Müller left the company in January 2019. Since then, the sole managing director has been Daniel Schuster. Since April 2020, the shareholders of the ProCurand group of companies have joined him - Heidrun Theis and Axel Theis. As shareholders, the two take over the areas of digitization, IT, facility management, controlling / finance and corporate communication. Daniel Schuster is now responsible for the areas of personnel and care.

At his own request, Axel Theis left the Board of Management of Allianz SE at the end of March 2020 after almost 34 years of service. Heidrun Theis brings her experience as a graduate engineer for research and electrical engineering with her to the new role at ProCurand.

In the state of Brandenburg, ProCurand has developed into one of the largest private institutions for senior citizens' facilities within five years. The company was founded without government funding and is self-financed. Including the head office in Berlin, ProCurand and its senior facilities currently have around 1,600 employees.

  • The company has the subsidiary ProCurand , which operates full and part-time inpatient care facilities and 24 retirement homes in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
  • The non-profit subsidiary ProCurand Ambulante Pflege GmbH (until 2016: Biloba ) has existed in the field of home sick and elderly care with branches in Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt and Baden-Württemberg since 2006 .
  • The ProCurand Service Ltd. (2016: R + Z service company) is active in the fields of catering, cleaning and shopping. The company runs a restaurant at each of six locations and a hotel in one location.

ProCurand Foundation

In 2010 Adolf Theis and Masako Katagami-Theis founded the ProCurand Foundation , which is financed from income from the foundation's capital and donations. The primary goal of the foundation is, among other things, to support long-term residents of ProCurand senior citizens 'residences when they can no longer finance their stay in the senior citizens' facility from their own resources. The foundation also participates in research projects for the further development of elderly care.
