Profane Omen is a groove metal band from Lahti , Finland .

Career

The band was founded in 1999. In 2000 they released the two demos Profane Omen and Bittersweet Omen . Two more demos were recorded in 2001, Fuck the Beast and Load of Lead , which were later released together as an EP under the title Label of Black , which became the band's first official release. In early 2004 Profane Omen recorded the single Adrenaline / Enemies , with a music video also being shot for Adrenaline .

In 2006 they released their first album Beaten into Submission , which received praise from many sides for the unique, aggressive sound and the "groovy" riffs as well as the combination of elements of traditional heavy metal, hardcore, post-thrash and melodic death metal. The album reached number 28 on the Finnish album charts.

In 2007 the band released another EP Disconnected , which entered the Finnish singles chart at number four. In the same year Profane Omen also had its first appearance at Tuska , one of the biggest metal festivals.

In March 2009 the second album Inherit The Void was released.

In November 2010 the band announced that bassist Tomppa Saarenketo had separated from them. This is due to a low level of motivation in relation to the band. Antti Seroff joined the band for him.
