Professional Risk Managers' International Association

The Professional Risk Managers' International Association (PRMIA) is an international association for risk management managers based in Northfield, Minnesota .

Founded in January 2002, the non-profit organization comprises 45 local chapters in major cities around the world. In Germany there are local chapters in Frankfurt am Main, Düsseldorf and Munich.

The non-profit, member-run association promotes the standards in risk management through the exchange of ideas and the transfer of knowledge. In addition, she prepares studies for external parties, including for Bloomberg . The PRMIA members can take part in specialist lectures and exchange ideas on current topics relating to risk management. In addition, the organization offers certification as a Professional Risk Manager (PRM).

The association has around 50,000 members worldwide (as of 2015).

She maintains partnerships with universities. In Germany, there is a partnership with the Chair of Financial Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich .
