The Propstei is a street in Trier in the Irsch district . It runs between Irscher Straße and Georgstraße, where it merges seamlessly into the street “Auf der Neuwies”. With a total of four cultural monuments , the almost 150-long street is the only listed street in Irsch. At the northern end of the street is the district church of St. Georg and St. Wendelinus .

The so-called Propstei , also called “Irscher Castle”, is named after the street . It is the former courtyard house Trier Abbey of St. Martin, was responsible for its administration temporarily a provost, which is why it Provost was called.
