Protecta ( spelling : PROTECTA ) is an Italian science magazine .

history

It was founded in March 1987 by the publisher Rocco Colomba. The magazine is based in Rome , the current editor is Tony Colomba. The magazine's format, which includes long essays and articles, tends to cater to an intellectual elite. Many social scientists, men and women of science, and other leading figures have contributed to this magazine, including Jacques Barrot , Edward Chaplin, Stavros Dimas , Jacques Diouf, Al Gore , Ban Ki-moon , Kōichirō Matsuura , E. Morley and A. Steiner.

Protecta has an average circulation of 60,000 copies. In 2008, some editions reached more than 100,000 copies.
