At the top of the protocol-based hierarchy of the People's Republic of China are the members of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China . The upper part of the ranking is summarized as follows:

4. Members of the Chinese Communist Party Secretariat:

   4. Members of the Standing Committee of the State Council
   5. President of the Supreme People's Court ( Zhou Qiang )
   6. President of the Supreme People's Procuratorate ( Cao Jianming )
   7. Former Vice-Presidents of the Politburo Standing Committee
   8. Members of the Central Military Commission
   9. Minister of the State Council
