from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Provincial Collegium had in Prussia school supervision of secondary schools and was the respective Provincial President affiliated. The collegially organized administrative authority was composed of the Upper President of the Province as the President of the College, the Vice President (Director), high school councils and high school councils as well as higher government councils.

From 1788 to 1825, the consistories established primarily for the administration of the Protestant Church (which were also headed by the upper presidents until 1845 and in some cases beyond) were also responsible for school affairs as provincial school colleges.
