Prozelo is a place and a former municipality in northern Portugal .
Ponte do Porto over the Cávado
Prozelo belongs to the Amares county in the Braga district . The community had an area of 2.7 km² and 785 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Prozelo, Ferreiros and Besteiros were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Ferreiros, Prozelo e Besteiros .
