Prudencio Esaá

Prudencio Esaá (* ´ July 6, 1892 in El Sombrero , † April 4, 1971 in Caracas ) was a Venezuelan composer , pianist and music teacher .

Prudencio Esaá, who lived in Naples for eight years and in the USA for twenty years, founded the chair for piano at the Escuela Juan Manuel Olivares . He taught at the Escuela Popular de Música and the Escuela Experimental Venezuela , which he founded with Freddy Reyna and Sergio Moreira , and was appointed Inspector Nacional de Música .

Esaá composed piano music and also film music, a. a. to the film Juan de la Calle by Rafael Rivero (1941). The Universidad Central de Venezuela published a selection of his piano works in 1969. The pianist and musicologist Juan Francisco Sans published Esaá's entire piano works in the eighth volume of the Clásicos de la literatura pianística venezolana .
