Pseudo elements

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As pseudo elements is referred to in the chemical such atomic groups , the chemical properties of a characteristic group of elements in the Periodic Table similar to (z. B. the halogens ).

The comparable properties result from the same electrical charge in the anionic state , this charge having to be distributed largely symmetrically in the case of the pseudo element anion. This can be determined from the electrical dipole moment of the relevant anions; the smaller this is, the more symmetrically the charge is distributed.

Examples of this are the pseudohalogens or the ammonium ion (NH 4 + ) as a pseudoalkali metal.
