Under the name, Ageha learns, there are rumors on the Internet and in the underworld about a secret organization that is said to be responsible for the disappearance of many people. A reward of 500 million yen was offered for information about this organization. Ageha becomes curious and wants to help Sakurako too: He uses the card and is supposed to answer many questions on the phone. Eventually he is drawn into a strange world. This world, called Psyren, is a wasteland inhabited by insect or human-like monsters. He also finds Sakurako and others from his world here. They are instructed to complete assignments when they return home. Besides Ageha and Sakurako, only three survive in this dangerous environment: Hiryū Asaga, Oboro Mochizuki and Kabuto Kirisaki.
