Publicius Maternus

Publicius Maternus (his praenomen is not known) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 3rd century AD .

A dedicatory inscription found at Old Kilpatrick, which is dated to 208/211, shows that Maternus was prefect of the Cohors I Baetasiorum civium Romanorum , which was stationed in the province of Britannia .
