Publius Metilius Nepos (Consul 91)

Publius Metilius Nepos was a Roman politician living in the 1st century AD .

In the last nundinium of the year 91, Nepos was together with Quintus Valerius Vegetus a suffect consul . Two military diplomas prove that he was 97 governor of the province of Britannia .

  1. ^ The soldiers, who were granted Roman citizenship through the diplomas , had been dismissed from military service by Nepos before the end of his term of office ( dimissis honesta missione a Metilio Nepote ). At the time the certificates were drawn up, however, Titus Avidius Quietus had already taken over the office as his successor ( in Britannia sub Tito Avidio Quieto ).
