The Puente de Barrancales is a historic stone arch bridge in the municipality of Cuéllar in Spain, around 150 kilometers north of Madrid in the province of Segovia .

history

The bridge was built over the River Cega in the Middle Ages during the Reconquista period in the 12th century and was abandoned in the 1950s. The bridge was the main link to the historic Molino de Barrancales flour mill . The mill was stopped in 1950, remains of the mill are still preserved today and were entered with the bridge in the list of Histórico Industrial de Castilla y León .

After the bridge threatened to collapse, it was restored in 2008 by the Ayuntamiento de Cuéllar city council  with a grant from the Junta de Castilla y León government , and after it was rebuilt it was opened to traffic as a pedestrian bridge .
