Puerto Banús is a marina in Marbella .

The port, built by José Banús, was inaugurated in 1970. In the 1990s, the port facility was expanded by several buildings by the mayor Jesús Gil, amid great protests by environmentalists .

Today the port is a meeting place for wealthy citizens. The mooring fee is sometimes over 500,000 euros per berth and year. The largest berths are (as of 2019) up to 50 meters long. Above all, rich Arabs have berths here. The restaurants and shops to be found in the port are accordingly in the upper price range. Furthermore, the marina of Marbella is the center of the night life of the Costa del Sol . Wealthy people from many nations have berths here.
