The Pugachev oak ( mari : Пугачёв тумо, Russian Дуб Пугачёва ) is an important tree in the Mari Chodra National Park in the Russian Republic of Mari El . It is believed that it has been standing since 1500. Its trunk diameter at chest height is 1.20 meters, it is 26 meters high. In April 2013 the tree received the status of a natural monument.

Legend has it that after the defeat in the Battle of Kazan during the Pugachev Uprising and the retreat into the forests of Mari, the remaining troops of Yemelyan Ivanovich Pugachev stopped under the oak tree. Pugachev personally observed the burning Kazan from this oak. However, there are doubts as to whether the oak is the tree the rebels stopped under. Some researchers believe that the tree is dated to around 1650, making it an ordinary tree at the time of the uprising. Another large oak , estimated to be around 1400 to date, existed in the surrounding fields until it died out in the 1940s and was felled in the 1950s. It may have been the original Pugachev oak.
