The Pulheimer See is a lake in the area of the city of Pulheim an der Venloer Straße to Cologne . Like the neighboring lakes in Cologne-Esch / Auweiler and Cologne-Pesch , it was created through the extraction of sand and gravel.
location
The Pulheimer See lies between Pulheim and the Cologne district of Bocklemünd , completely within the Pulheim city area. Together with the neighboring lakes in Esch / Auweiler and Pesch, it forms the Stöckheimer Hof local recreation area , which is being developed by the cities of Pulheim and Cologne.
use
At the moment the Pulheimer See is still used for pumping gravel, bathing in the lake is not allowed. After the end of industrial use, which will run until September 2020, the lake is to be expanded into a swimming and leisure lake. The surf and sailing club Pulheim e. V. (since 1981) and the fishing club ASK Stommeln-Pulheim 1970 e. V. (since 1993) are already allowed to use the lake. The DLRG local group Pulheim e. V. maintains a water rescue station on the bank to secure water sports events.
