Pulverfass Cabaret is a well-known travesty theater in Hamburg .

The theater was founded in 1973 by Heinz-Diego Leers in Hamburg-St. Georg founded. Its name is derived from the street called Pulverteich that runs there. On October 25, 2001 the theater moved to the Reeperbahn in Hamburg-St. Pauli in a former cinema.

Today the powder keg is the largest travesty theater in Europe. It offers a monthly changing show program with two shows during the week and three shows on the weekend. Travesty is shown with its own program: imitators of well-known stars, comedy , striptease and also a men’s strip show. The audience has to be prepared for some artists to bare their genitals at the end of their performance to prove that they were really born men. The associated restaurant Teatro Lounge is located in the foyer . A young talent competition is held every year.
