Pulvinar

Pulvinar (from Latin pulvinus "cushion") means:

  • a cushion at the Lectisternium
  • In the Roman Catholic liturgy, the pillow, which was previously used instead of the measuring desk as a base for the missal
  • a decorative element in architecture, see Pulvinar (architecture)
  • a cell complex, see pulvinar (CNS)
  • as Pulvinar medicinale a herbal pillow, a sachet filled with dried herbs - similar to a tea bag.
