Pune FC is a football club from Pune , India . The club began in the country's second division, the I-League 2nd Division, and is now playing in the highest Indian league in the 2009/10 season. The club plays its home games at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex. The association was founded by the Ashok Piramal Group in August 2007.
The club's coat of arms is decorated with a Bengal monitor ( Marathi घोरपड ghorpaḍ ), which surrounds a football. The monitor lizard should serve as an inspiration to overcome all obstacles. The colors of the coat of arms are red and gold - red should stand for aggressiveness, danger and passion; Gold for success and victories.
