A point lubricator or oil pin (colloquially comparison , often falsely also drop oiler ) is a closed container in the form of a ballpoint pen or a fountain pen, and is used for maintenance.

The point oiler is z. It is used, for example, in precision mechanics , weapons technology , watch technology, for cameras and in model making, in order to apply lubricating oil precisely and drop by drop to hard-to-reach or deep-lying areas . The point oiler is filled with watch oil or gun oil . The oils used can often remain in the oiler for a long period of time because these high-quality oils do not resinify. The point oiler dispenses the amount of one drop at the metal tip by pressing the push button.

Point oilers are made of metal or plastic, the reservoir for the oil is made of transparent plastic. The hollow tip in the form of a cannula for dispensing the oil is usually made of steel or brass and is closed by a round tip, which is opened by the push button. The tip is protected from damage by a protective cap. The filling quantity is about 5 to 15  ml.
