Point (heraldry)
The point , even foot , heel location or navel point (navel) is in the heraldry in the coat of arms of the square below.
To delimit the foot and navel
This place is created according to the newer shield division by splitting the coat of arms shield twice by stake and dividing it twice by bars and has the symbolic place 8 . The older version had five main rows. Here the navel would be the 4th row and the foot the 5th. The penultimate row according to the old style is described as the umbilical row in heraldry and is a fixed term, as is the row of feet , the point is always the lowest point of the shield. If the foot is heraldically separated, i.e. a field , it is called a shield foot , but the designations can also be used as a pure position indication (as a place) for figures, their positions and orientations and the like.
The navel row, but at least the navel, forms the regalia field in special coats of arms . The color is red. This field is often adorned with damascus .
Umbilical shield
If this field is assigned a small sign , this sign is then referred to as the umbilical sign . The label is under the center label and is subordinate to this in terms of meaning. In the description of the coat of arms it is always mentioned after the middle shield.
