The Pup Cove (English for puppy bay ) is a small bay on the east coast of Signy Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is located on the north side of Elephant Flats at the head of Borge Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1991 after the birth of an Antarctic fur seal, first observed on Signy Island in February 1977, since the Signy station opened in 1947.
