Pursat ( Khmer : ខេត្តពោធិ៍សាត់ ) is the capital of the Pursat Province in Cambodia .
geography
Pursat is about 20 kilometers southwest of Tonle Sap Lake . The Stueng Pursat flows through the city and flows into the lake.
National Road 5 , which connects Pursat with Battambang (towards the northwest) and Kampong Chhnang (towards the southeast), runs through the village .
In 1998 Sisophon had a population of 25,650 (1998 census), in 2008 it was 27,180 (2008 census).
