Putnam Memorial State Park
The Putnam Memorial Park is the oldest state park in Connecticut , USA. It is in the area of the city of Redding in Fairfield County .
The park was named after Israel Putnam , an American general who set up his winter camp here during the American Revolutionary War .
Putnam Memorial State Park has been on the National Register of Historic Places since December 29, 1970 .
