The Puttuaalu Brook is a 54 km long river in the north of Labrador in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .

River course

The Puttuaalu Brook forms the drain of a nameless lake about 320  m high. It initially flows for 20 km in a predominantly easterly direction and then turns to the northeast. There is a 4 km long lake on the upper reaches. At river kilometer 21, the river touches the 4.7 km² Puttuaalu Lake ( ) on the right bank of the river . The river has numerous bends over the last 10 kilometers . Finally, the Puttuaalu Brook flows into the approximately 20  m high 23.3 km² Tasiuyak Tasialua Lake ( ). The lake is drained via Laura Lake ( ), Frank Lake ( ) and an unnamed lake to Tasiuyak Bay ( ). The entire river system has a catchment area of 1471 km². Including the downstream section of the river to the sea, the total length is about 78 km.

Fish fauna

Arctic char and the anadromous form of brook char occur in the Puttuaalu Brook river system .
