Pylia (province)

Pylia ( Greek Επαρχία Πυλίας Eparchia Pylias ) was a former province of Greece in the Prefecture of Messenia . It consisted of the then municipality Pylos and 63 rural parishes and included the area of ​​today's municipality Pylos-Nestor and the municipalities of Epia , Petalidi and Voufrades of the municipality of Messini . It was dissolved in 1997 under Act No. 2539, Article 19 on January 1, 1999.
