Pyogenic means forming pus . The formation of pus is called pyogenesis . The term pyogen refers to the ability of a pathogen to cause purulent inflammation . In most cases, these pathogens are bacteria . Pyogenic pathogens are z. B. certain streptococci and staphylococci .
