Pyro Mobile is a game developer based in Madrid , Spain , founded in 2012 as a merger between Play Wireless and Pyro Studios, which are best known for the Commandos game series.
Pyro Studios
Pyro Studios was founded in 1996. Her first game was Commandos , released in 1998 : Behind Enemy Lines . The success of this title led to the release of the add-on Commandos: On behalf of honor .
In October 2001 the Microsoft Windows version of Commandos 2: Men of Courage was released , followed by its release on Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation 2 in September 2002. Commandos 3: Destination Berlin was released in October 2003. In total, the Commandos series has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide.
Praetorians , a 3D strategy game for Microsoft Windows based on the armed conflicts of the Roman general and emperor Julius Caesar , was published in February 2003.
Imperial Glory was released in 2005. The 2006 published Commandos: Strike Force broke with the previous gameplay of the Commandos series. Due to the rather moderate success of the game, this led to the break with the game publisher Eidos .
At the end of 2008, the studio stopped developing the planned Xbox 360 and PS3 game Cops ; 30 employees involved in the development were laid off.
Pyro Mobile
In 2012 Pyro Studios merged with Play Wireless to create Pyro Mobile, a company that now develops applications for smartphones, tablets and social media. The first mobile game The Moleys was released in December 2012.
