Kyzyl Agach (Azerbaijani: ghizil-agaj state reserve) is a nature reserve (bird sanctuary) on the west coast of the Caspian Sea ( Kyzyl-Agach Bay ) in Rayon Lankaran , Azerbaijan . It was declared a nature reserve in 1929.
The Ramsar area of Kyzyl Agach is the largest nature reserve in Azerbaijan with around 88,360 hectares. Endangered bird species like the red-necked goose and the white-headed duck overwinter here . In the lagoons and on offshore islands you can find greater flamingos , but also the Dalmatian pelican , collar francolin , heron , ibis and pygmy shags .
