Q Pootle 5 is a British children's animation series produced between 2013 and 2014 . It is based on the picture books of the same name by the author and illustrator Nick Butterworth .

The alien Q Pootle 5 and his friends Oopsy, Eddi, Stella, Ray, Groobie, Bud-D and Planet Dave from the planet Okidoki see space as a big playground on which one can experience many adventures. They also help other residents and tourists and bring the young viewers closer to values ​​such as friendship and solidarity.

Production and publication

The series was produced in the United Kingdom between 2013 and 2014 by Q Pootle 5, Snapper Productions and Blue-Zoo Productions. This resulted in 52 episodes and a Christmas special. The music comes from the British composer David Schweitzer .

The series first aired on July 29, 2013 on the BBC . The German premiere took place on February 4, 2015 on KiKA . The series was also released on DVD and as a radio play on CD .
