Qixxit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Qixxit (QT Mobility Service GmbH) is an intermodal travel planning and booking platform that was founded by DB AG in December 2016 . The software combines train, plane and long-distance bus connections into a coherent route and thus opens up new travel connections. The headquarters of QT Mobility Service GmbH is in Berlin .

history

DB Sales started work on the Qixxit mobility portal in 2012 to make travel planning easier for customers within Germany.

In July 2014, Qixxit was officially launched, both as a website and as an app for iOS and Android . The software concentrated on combining different modes of transport in order to find the best routes from a start to a destination address within Germany. Qixxit considered private cars, long-distance buses, planes, rental cars, car sharing, taxis, bicycles and local public transport.

In December 2016, DB AG founded the company QT Mobility Service GmbH, which replaced the old Qixxit concept with a new one. Since then, Qixxit's service has focused on intermodal long-distance connections. The Deutsche Bahn subsidiary is thus in competition with services such as FromAtoB, Omio (formerly GoEuro) and Google Maps . Qixxit's new website and apps have been available since May 2018.

Qixxit was the first travel planner to integrate ApplePay after the payment method was officially launched in Germany.

In July 2019, DB AG sold Qixxit to the Lastminute.com Group .

Data coverage

Qixxit is officially available in Germany, where it takes into account the majority of rail, bus and flight connections.
