Quality perception

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Perception of quality is a marketing term that is predominantly, but not exclusively, used in the automotive industry.

It does not describe the actual quality level of the object (e.g. vehicle , interior fittings ), but rather the subjective reception of the viewer about the quality, especially with regard to the visual and acoustic impression as well as the olfactory perception and the feel .

The aim of (automobile) manufacturers is to use high-quality materials for all visible surfaces and those that the user (e.g. car buyer) touches, as well as acoustic measures, to achieve the highest possible quality perception, and thus to the user to suggest a high quality level of the object .

In recent years, this has led to the development of special job profiles such as the acoustic designer (also: sound designer) and the olfactory designer .
