Queens Cup boxes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Queens Cup Boxing is an international amateur boxing tournament for female boxers.

history

The Queens Cup Boxing took place for the first time from 5th to 7th October 2012 by the Boxstall Boxhaus in cooperation with the PSV - Pommerscher Sportverein Stralsund eV Boxing Department in Stralsund . In order to offer women's boxing a larger media platform and to connect to the widespread men's boxing , the Queens Cup Boxing was launched and was very popular in the boxing scene in 2012 with 101 female boxers from 9 countries. 131 female boxers from 14 countries, including Australia, took part in the second event in 2013. In 2014 there was a further increase with over 150 participants from 15 countries. In addition to the European teams, national teams from Asia and Africa also took part in this event. This means that female boxers from 21 countries and four continents have already participated in the first three events. Because of the large number of participants, the Queens Cup Boxing will be divided into a Queens Cup for youth and a Queens Cup Elite (women) from 2015. The tasks of the organizer for both tournaments are taken over by the DBV German Boxing Association and the tournament is organized by the Phoenix Sportverein Stralsund.
