Transverse bed seats
In the specialist jargon of nursing and geriatric care, transverse bed seating is understood to be a nursing action (e.g. in the intensive care unit) for the active mobilization of a patient by helping him to lie on the side in the seat on the edge of the bed, with a right angle between the long edge of the Betts and the person emerges. The sitting position is across the bed. The cross-bed seat is often used for a patient bed-chair transfer, with the nurses several advantages offer compared to the reclining position.
application
The transverse bed seat is used on the patient in the following situations:
- Patients with poor back and abdominal stability
- Patients with unstable circulation
- Patients with low resilience potential
- Low- performing patients
The transverse bed seat can be helpful as a starting position for a transfer or to simply position the patient. Positioned across the bed, the patient can eat, wash and carry out other activities - similar to sitting in a chair.
storage
When lying across the bed, the patient is brought into the sitting position, whereupon the trunk is stabilized at the back and side. This is done with a U-shaped pad. A safe backrest is attached to prevent accidents. The forearms are secured and the patient is further secured to prevent a fall.
