Cross-sectional function

Cross-sectional function is a function in a line organization . She is responsible for topics across several main lines that are not the main business there. A consistent application of the cross-sectional function can lead to a matrix organization .

In operational organizations there are cross-sectional functions in the areas of: logistics , human resources , information management, finance and controlling , IT, but also in research and development.
