Coordinates: 38 ° 38 ′ 40.5 ″ N , 9 ° 8 ′ 42.9 ″ W.
The Roman pottery kiln of Quinta do Rouxinol is located under a protective roof next to the parking lot of the tide mill ( Moinho da Máre in Portuguese ) in Corroios, a district of Seixal , Portugal . It is about 2.5 m in diameter. The brickwork, which has now been covered again, has been preserved up to a height of 80 cm.
From the 1st to the 4th century, local pottery mainly produced amphorae for garum and other fish sauces that were made in the area, e.g. B. in Tróia . There are similar pottery kiln finds around the mouth of the Tejo .
