Quintet in G major op.18 (Dvořák)

The Quintet in G major for two violins, viola, cello and double bass op.18 wrote Antonin Dvorak at the beginning of 1875 (after entry in the score , "completed in March") in Prague . The work was premiered on March 18, 1876 as part of a concert by the Prague artists' association Umělecká beseda by František Ondříček and other members of the Umělecká beseda association in Prague . It was published by Simrock in Berlin in 1888 , with the new opus number 77 being given.

1st movement: Allegro con fuoco; 4/4 time, key: G major

2nd movement: Allegro vivace; 6/8 time, key: E minor

3rd movement: Poco andante; 4/4 time, key: C major

4th movement: Allegro assai; 2/4 time, key: G major
