Rätzmühle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A grinding mill is a grinding device for pome fruit and vegetables .

The ground material is fed in from above through a funnel and transported into the interior of the mill by a screw . The grist is shredded by the knife (similar in structure to a saw). The fruit is moved by a multi-blade rotor in the cylindrical part of the mill. The knives are located in the lower part of the cylinder so that the material to be ground can independently exit the grinding chamber downwards. There are passages on the circumference between the knives, where the shredded material is conveyed out of the apparatus. A separation of cores, shells, etc. only takes place in the subsequent work step.

Applications: apples, pears (not suitable for berries and stone fruits ), onions , garlic and other vegetables.

Type of exposure: rubbing , shearing
