Pyramid in the outside area of the museum

The museum was set up in the premises of a former dye works in 2011 and officially opened in the spring of the following year. It shows over 2000 different smoking figures from the 20th and 21st centuries on 200 m² . The figures on display, including vehicles for incense candles, come from various manufacturers throughout the Ore Mountains, some of them as loans from private individuals, they give an overview of the history of the incense smoker. Different styles, collections and figure types can be seen. The smallest Incense is about 5  centimeters , the largest about 80 centimeters high. In addition, the museum has a small collection of historical and modern incense cones and some tools for making them.

Events

On December 1st, 2012, the 1st Smoker's Festival took place in the museum . In order to expand the inventory of exhibits for the museum, there was an exchange campaign between smokers “old for new”. Because of the great interest shown by visitors, the museum management has been holding such a festival once a year since then.

For 2014, where the 3rd Smoker's Festival will take place on November 29th, the attractions include pushing the pyramid and cutting the tunnel with the Cranzahl trombone choir , handicrafts for children and demonstrations.
