Rödichen is a village that was merged with the neighboring Gut Schnepfenthal to form the municipality of Schnepfenthal-Rödichen, which has only been called Schnepfenthal since it was incorporated into Waltershausen in 1950 . It is located in the district of Gotha in Thuringia .
Location of Rödichen
Rödichen is located north of Friedrichroda and southeast of Waltershausen on the northern roof of the Thuringian Forest . The L1025 runs through the village as "Rödicher Hauptstraße".
history
Rödichen was first mentioned in a document on February 3, 1216. The municipality of Rödichen, to which Schnepfenthal belonged, received the official name Schnepfenthal-Rödichen around 1920 .
