Rüdiger Scholz (born November 23, 1957 in Cologne ) is a German teacher and politician of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU).

Life

Scholz studied teaching at the University of Cologne . In 1979 Scholz joined the CDU. From 1987 to 1990 Scholz was press spokesman for the Junge Union Deutschlands . From 1990 to 1992 he headed the "Office for Democratic Youth Work" in Berlin and was managing director of the Christian-Democratic Children and Youth Association Frischluft eV in Bonn. From 1992 to 1994 Scholz was press spokesman for the CDU Thuringia. From 1994 to 2003 Scholz was employed by a marketing agency in Bonn. Scholz has been a member of Leverkusen City Council since 1999. From 2004 to 2009 he was press spokesman for the CDU Brandenburg and the CDU parliamentary group in Brandenburg in Potsdam. Scholz has been a teacher at a secondary school in Wuppertal since 2010. On May 14, 2017, Scholz succeeded in entering the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017 as a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia as a direct candidate in the state electoral district of Leverkusen .
