The caravan hostel Rustem Pasha Caravanserai ( Turkish Rustem Pasa Kervansarayi ) in Edirne was of Rustem Pasha , the Grand Vizier of Suleiman the Magnificent , commissioned. It is therefore an Ottoman building .

The builder Sinan built this trading yard around 1554. It is an impressive, two-storey rectangular building with an inner courtyard and hammam . A total of 102 rooms are available on two floors. 21 shops are located in the front part. In the courtyard there used to be a fountain and a mescite ; it was destroyed during the siege by the Russians in 1877/1878. For centuries , the Handelshof was a marketing place for silkworm cocoons that were bred in the Edirne area.

The building was restored in 1972 and converted into a hotel.
