The Rüsternpfuhl is a small lake designated as a biotope west of Randau in the area of the city of Magdeburg .
The Rüsternpfuhl is located in the middle of the Elbe meadows on the right bank of the Elbe . Immediately to the east of the lake the Elbe dike runs, so that in the event of a flood in the Elbe, the Rüsternpfuhl and its surroundings are also affected. A dirt road runs west of the Rüsternpfuhl to the Randauer Baggerloch in the south .
The small lake has the shape of an ellipse . The largest length from northwest to southeast is about 90 meters, the width of the lake is a maximum of 30 meters. The banks of the Rüsternpfuhl are characterized by reeds.
